There is no doubt that the global information network (the Internet) stands among the most distinguished hallmarks of modern technology and represents a remarkable gift offered to humanity as a whole. The impressive leap and profound transformation in the world of communications have brought about a qualitative revolution across various aspects of life and human affairs. This transformation has created unprecedented opportunities for rapprochement among peoples and nations striving toward security, goodness, and prosperity, and has rendered the concept of comprehensive civilizational dialogue more effective and closer to realization.
Such developments enable the mission of the Internet to be noble in its objectives, profound in its content, engaging in its presentation, and solid in its intellectual foundations.
Firmly believing in the integrative and comprehensive nature of Islamic thought, derived from its leading source—the School of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)—we find it imperative to engage wholeheartedly in this modern experience, employing all our capacities and energies, in order to once again demonstrate the remarkable power of attraction inherent in this elevated intellectual tradition. We harbor no doubt that the human being, exhausted by the deviations of Western methodologies and their superficial values—indeed, by all misleading ideologies—will find in the teachings of the Family of Infallibility and Purity (peace be upon them) the long-sought guidance and a secure refuge.
For this reason, the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) Foundation for the Revival of Heritage took the initiative to establish and launch Rafed Cultural Development Network—an Internet-based platform with a serious and committed mission, Islamic in content, diverse in services, and addressed to all people across their various backgrounds. The network rises above religious, sectarian, ethnic, and political affiliations; refrains from sensationalism, propaganda, defamation, and incitement; distances itself from tedious repetition and superficial consumption; embraces professionalism and specialization; and never overlooks the importance of providing an engaging and enriching experience for its respected visitors.
