279. 'Abd Allah bin al-Walid

He was called al-Wassafi. Shakh al-Tu`si numbered him as one of the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, and of Ima`m al-Sa`diq peace be on them.6

280. 'Abd Allah al-Ha`shmi

He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him, and Ima`m Abu` 'Abd Allah (al-Sa`diq), peace be on him. His sons Sulayma`n and 'Isa` reported on his authority.7

281. 'Abd al-Mu’min al-Ansa`ri

He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him. Abu` Ayyu`b reported on his authority. He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` 'Abd Allah (al-Sa`diq), peace be on him. Bakkar b. Kardam reported on his authority.1

282. 'Abd al-Mu’min bin al-Qa`sim

He was called al-Ansa`ri. He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir) and Ima`m Abu` 'Abd Allah ( al-Sa`diq), peace be on them. He and his brother were reliable. He has a book. He died in the year 140 A. H.2

283. 'Abd al-Mu’min bin al-Haythem

He was called al-Ansa`ri. He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him.3

284. 'Abd al-Ma`lik bin A'yun

He was called al-Shayba`ni. He was the brother of the great jurist, Zara`ra b. A'yun. Shakh al-Tu`si numbered him as one of the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, peace be on them.4 Al-Barqi also numbered him as one of the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, peace be on them. 'Abd al-Ma`lik and his brothers were among the close associates of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, peace be on him. Al-Kashi reported on the authority of Rabi'at al-Ra’i, who said: "I (Rabi'a) said to Abu` 'Abd Allah (al-Sa`diq): 'Who are the brothers who come to you from Iraq? I have never seen anyone among your companions better than them.’ He, peace be on him, said: 'They are the companions of my father.’ He meant the sons of A'yun.5

Zara`ra b. A'yun reported: "Abu` 'Abd Allah (al-Sa`diq), peace be on him, came to Mecca. He asked me about 'Abd al-Ma`lik bin A'yun. ' He died,’ I replied. 'Died!’ he exclaimed. 'Yes,’ I answered. 'Let’s go to his grave to pray (to Allah) for him," he suggested. 'Yes,’ I replied. The Ima`m prayed to Allah very much for him.1 Among his prayers are: "O Allah, Abu` al-Daris regarded us as among your best creatures. So, add him to the family of Mohammed, may Your blessings be on him, on the Day of Judgment."2

285. 'Abd al-Ma`lik b. 'Utba

He was called al-Ha`shimi al-Lahbi. He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him, and Ima`m al-Sa`diq, peace be on him, as al-Kashi stated. Al-Kashi said that the book ascribed to 'Abd al-Ma`lik does not belong to him. Rather, it belongs to 'Abd al-Ma`lik b. Utba al-Nakha’i al-Sayrafi.3

286. 'Abd al-Ma`lik bin 'Ata`’

He was called al-Ku`fi. Shaykh al-Tu`si and al-Barqi numbered him as one of the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, peace be on him.4

287. 'Abd al-Ma`lik bin 'Amru`

He was called al-Ahwal al-Ku`fi. He reported on the authority of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, Ima`m al-Sa`diq, peace be on them. 5Al-Kashi reported on the authority of 'Abd al-Ma`lik b. 'Amru`, who said: [Ima`m al-Sa`diq, peace be on him, said: to me] "I (al-Sa`diq) pray to Allah for you to the extent that I mention your name and your son’s name.6

288. 'Abd al-Wahid bin al-Mukhta`r

He was called al-Ansa`ri al-Ku`fi. He was among the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, and of Ima`m al-Sa`diq peace be on them.1

289. 'Ubayd bin Kuthayr

He was called al-Ku`fi. He reported on the authority of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, and of Ima`m 'Ali, b. al-Husayn, peace be on them. They (the narrators) mentioned that 'Ubayd fabricated traditions, and that he had a book. The book is known as "Kita`b al-Takhrij fi Bani al-Shaysa`n." Most traditions of the book are fabricated. The fewest of them are authentic. Ibn al-Ghada`’iry said: "'Ubayd bin Kuthayr b. 'Abd al-Wahid b. 'Abd Allah b. Shura`k al-Amiri al-Wa`hidi al-Kilabi, whose kunya is Abu` Sa’id, fabricated traditions openly. He did not refrain from telling lies. He was famous for that.2

290. 'Ubayd Allah bin Mohammed

b. 'Umar b. Ima`m ('Ali), the Commander of the Faithful, peace be on him. Shaykh al-Tu`si numbered him as one of the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, peace be on him.

291. 'Ubayd Allah bin al-Walid

He was called al-Wa`ssafi. Al-Naja`shi said: "'Ubayd Allah bin al-Walid al-Wa`ssafi was a reliable Arab. He was given the kunya of Abu` Sa'id. He reported on the authority of Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), and Abu` 'Abd Allah (al-Sa`diq), peace be on them. The biographers have mentioned him. He has a book. A group (of the narrators) reported the book.4

292. 'Ubayd Allah al-Wa`ssafi

He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on them. 'Ali b. Ri'a`b reported on his authority.2

294. 'Ubayda al-Khath'ami

Shaykh al-Tu`si and numbered him as one of the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, peace be on him.3

295. 'Ubayda al-Saksaki

299. 'Adhafar

He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him. His son Mohammed reported on his authority. He also reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` 'Abd Allah (al-Sa`diq), peace be on him. Al-Hasan b. 'Atiya reported on his authority.2

300. 'Adhafar bin 'Abd Allah

Shakh al-Tu`si numbered him as one of the companions of Ima`m al-Ba`qir, peace be on him.

301. 'Urwa bin 'Abd Allah

He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him. 'Amru` b. Shimr reported on his authority.4

302. Al-'Atta`'

He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him, and of Ima`m al-Sa`diq, peace be on him. Zyya`d b. Mohammed and Mu'ammar b. 'Amru` reported on his authority.5

303. 'Atta`' bin Yasa`r

He reported on the authority of Ima`m Abu` Ja'far (al-Ba`qir), peace be on him. 'Abd al-Rahma`n b. Zayd b. Aslam reported on the authority of his father, on the authority of 'Atta`'.6
